			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The world of marketing can be a dreadful one for any business owner, me included.  It seems that there’s every form of advertising imaginable, from flyers, direct mailers, commercials, newspapers, commercials, the list just seems absolutely endless!  But it is also a necessary evil, in the sense that you must advertise to get your business customers and, in turn, try to weed through the pitches to determine what works and what doesn’t.  Of all the pitches that normally flood my phones, I found one myself called local website marketing that makes the most sense of all.</p>
<p>Local website marketing is truly a straight forward concept and one we’ve probably all witnessed on the consumer side of things.  If you want something local, you usually end up searching for it, and up pops a fancy little map giving you directions, information, phone numbers, hours, all kinds of things.  It’s evident that the search engines have spent a lot of time and money tweaking their systems to be on demand information resources and it plays out in the tops of the search results.  But the bigger question that I started asking myself was how do I become that first listing?</p>
<p>Well, through marketing campaigns know as local website marketing, I can do exactly that.  The concept is simple and straight forward.  The key is to setup your website with specific keyword phrases known as search engine optimized, or <a href="http://www.marketmybusinesslocal.com/more-local-seo-services" title="SEO">SEO</a>, keywords.  These are the phrases that people would regularly search for when looking for my product or business.  Think “grass seed Denver, CO” as I own a nursery.  So by setting up my web pages with these SEO keyword phrases, my website will appear at the top of the list.</p>
<p>Sounds simple enough, right?  I decided to recruit the help of one of the companies that specialize in getting my company out there on all of the popular search engines.  One, because I don’t know exactly what I’m doing and two, I don’t have the time.  At first, I thought I would be hit with some bill stretching into the thousands like most forms of advertising usually cost but I was pleasantly surprised to realize just how affordable and painless the whole thing was.  It was almost immediate as well, with my phone starting to ring within days.  </p>

We are a society demanding instant gratification, we want pertinent information at our fingertips immediately and we want it to be accurate.  The major search engine companies like Yahoo! and Google understand this and work feverishly to create the best search results possible.  And by understanding how they operate, you can create a local search marketing campaign that will generate business for as long as you keep it up.</p>
<p>Local search marketing is, simply, designing your website to be optimized to get as many visits, or hits, as possible when people search for a product or service you offer in your local area.  It’s better explained through an example.  Say you own an automotive repair shop called Bob’s Auto in Alexandria, VA.  What are people going to search for when they need a mechanic?  It will probably be something along the lines of “Alexandria mechanic” or “certified mechanics Alexandria, VA”.  This, my friends, is the absolute key to local search marketing.  By understanding what your customers are searching for to find local products and services, you can build a website designed to generate traffic for your business.</p>
<p>How is this done?  Websites weigh their results by how many times a keyword appears on a website.  For instance, if you have “Alexandria mechanic” on your site five times and your competitor only has it three times, your website will be considered more thorough and appear at or near the top of the search results, thus creating a local search marketing campaign. <p>One of the greatest benefits behind local search marketing is the repeat business you can create for yourself.  Unlike most any other advertising medium, the hard work and initial expense that comes with its creation will only have to be done once, unless you decide to change it.  Unlike commercials and other advertising that only runs for a specific amount of time, local search marketing will be there every single time someone decides to search for your services.  And to get a campaign like this up and running, there isn’t even a huge expense like you’ve come to expect from other forms of advertising.</p>
